Energy Performance Certificates

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are needed whenever a property is built, sold or rented.

DO I NEED ONE?

You must order an EPC for potential buyers and tenants before you market your property to sell or rent.

In Scotland, you must display the EPC somewhere in the property, for example in the meter cupboard or next to the boiler.

An EPC contains information about a property’s energy use and typical energy costs and gives you recommendations about how to improve your EPC score and save money

An EPC gives a property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and is valid for 10 years.

HOW IS IT COMPLETED?

One of our domestic energy assessors will take a series of photographs and measurements of the house. The photographs will be of elements of the inside and outside of the house. This is because all assessors are regularly audited to make sure that they are consistently producing top quality EPC assessments.

OUR APPROACH TO YOUR EPC

Although completing an EPC for your property will generate a list of recommendations to improve your score, some of these recommendations are intrusive and expensive and may not be the best way to improve your EPC score. As our assessors have years of experience in the ECO3 and ECO4 industry, our knowledge will always produce the most cost effective way to improve your score and future proof your property.
